The commissioned artwork was created for a location called Tong Liao in Inner Mongolia, known to the locals as ᠲᠦᠩᠯᠢᠶ ᠣᠣ ᠬᠣᠲᠠ. By using metal as the material, he emphasizes the barren state of the natural environment surrounding the work. The thin, seemingly fragile structure has its unique stubbornness that symbolizes the spirit of the nomads - a free, mobile, and long-standing culture. With over 3,000 hours of daylight per year, the sun creates 360 degrees of elongated shadow for the thin, vertical structure. The work, and nature combine to create an eternal third dimension that will last for centuries beyond humankind.
