Ancestors Painting Restoration

A pigment ink on cotton ancestors artwork from a private Singapore collector, affected by mould and paint fading, was cleaned and touched up to a vibrant condition.

Material
Pigment ink on cotton
Location

A beautiful artwork created using pigment ink on cotton suffering from mould and some general paint fading across the work. This was from a private collector living in a beautiful 4 storey shophouse in Singapore.

We helped to clean and remove the mould whilst also touching up the areas of paint loss and fading where appropriate. Below is a few select images to show the condition before and after the restoration work.

You can see the heavy mould present in this photograph, especially on the gentleman on the far right, the 3 hats, and the black outfit on the left.

The mould has been completely removed and the damaged artwork has been repaired and freshened.

General moulding is present across this image and fading of paint.

Colours are revitalised and the mould has been completely removed.

The finished work is substantially more vibrant and has had all of the mould and dust completely removed. The client was delighted with the results and requested for us to repair a second work in a similar style.
