This particular artwork is a large wooden block with circular glass bubbles of which various images reside behind. From a distance, the colours of each individual image have been shaped to create an eye. Whilst the work itself is generally in reasonable condition, there is various places where cracking has become present in and around some of the glass bubbles.
This could have been from general environmental issues over time, or more likely the work may have fallen onto its face as we found it to be front heavy during restoration. We were engaged to help restore some of these cracks and give the work a general clean.
After restoration
The most obvious cracks have been patched up and repaired. We have repainted the areas to give consistency.
